"Be Thou My Vision"

Maybe it's just the Irish roots coming out in me, but I have always loved this hymn. So it seems appropriate for me, on days when it feels like my life is changing, to be reminded of this amazing hymn and to bear it in mind constantly. I have some big decisions to make coming up for this year. I don't know what I'm doing. It's a very blind step of faith, but those are normally the most rewarding. So I will not fear. This hymn is for me, right now, at some crossroads. Maybe this hymn is for you, too. Maybe there is so much confusion right now within you that it's threatening to eat you alive. Or maybe it's fear. Hurt. Frustration. Loneliness. No matter what it is, if you desperately desire to keep God your vision, you can let it go into the hands of the One who has already planned for this occasion in your life long before you were born and, since He already had it planned, He already has the solution laid out. It's not up to you to discover the solution. It's up to you to accept it when it comes. And it will be more beautiful than you can ever imagine. When God is your vision, there's nothing else you will ever see that will compare.

"Heart of my own heart, WHATEVER BEFALLS...Still be my Vision, Oh Ruler of all."

"Happy are those who don't listen to the wicked, who don't go where sinners go, who don't do what evil people do. They love the LORD's teachings, and they think about those teachings day and night. They are strong, like a tree planted by a river. The tree produces fruit in season, and its leaves don't die. Everything they do will succeed." ~Psalm 1:1-3
